Just Another Horror Story

I love horror

As the title of my blog (or website name I'm not sure which) is Just Another Horror Story, an anthology conception of horror stories. My fascination in horror started in about...2nd grade or so? when I read my first horror book: Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. The pictures were so goddamn demented and horrifying, especially for a child's book that I felt terror at every sight. I would slowly turn a page, revealing the horrifying image, steel myself, and force myself to look and experience the fear for myself. That quickly translated into horror themed children's content, mostly books from the library. And then I watched the Exorcist when I was home sick and alone when I was around maybe seven years old? And the kid runs down the stairs on her back? Super fucking creepy and I still remember that fear. It quickly became an obsession for me and everything I got was horror based or related to horror. Horror became an identity for me and there was an endless flow of horror movies through my childhood as Troy indulged me in all my whims. I had seen every R-rated horror movie I could find in the DVD bin at Albertsons. For a while, I even refused to watch anything less than R-rated. What started as a child fascination became a core part of me as I grew older. I began to find all the nuances of horror and that is an eternally volatile concept. Let's see...I first loved Blade with Wesley Snipes...then Tarantino for a good while(one of my favorite directors)...then Lars Von Trier for a while...then I found a list of best horror movies(https://www.timeout.com/film/best-horror-films) and have been going through the list. My now favorite horror movies are Freaks, then The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, then the House that Jack Built. I have sooooo many more but I can't list them casually, I have to try and remember all the movies I watch in great detail. The more demented, the more artistic, the more fucking passionate it is the more I love it. I read only Stephen King for my entire time in high school and was greatly influenced by his writing. And then I found Hermann Hesse and found in him a friend, a mentor, a figure of eternity in my soul. I try to combine Hesse with my horror based fascination. So, everything about me is horror. I am slowly getting my tattoos I've dreamed of and I'm getting a leg sleeve just for horror. I have a two to finish before that but it's awesome! I love my artist, she's such a wacky ducky. Horror is extremely important to me. I have Hesse and Berserk tattoos for now and they took forever but they're awesome. I will have a looong tirade about Berserk, the manga, by Kentaro Miura, one of my all time favorites for horror content but that's for another time. Oh, dear stranger, I love horror so very much. All I will ever want is to write horror stories. I will keep sharing them in the hopes you find them interesting. See you next time!
